Undersecretary of State
Renata Szczęch is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. In 1993 she began work at the Voivodeship Labour Office in Rzeszów. From 1996 to 2001 she was employed in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, and then worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs until 2004.
She served as a consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in New York, where she headed the visa and passport section, and subsequently dealt with matters of Polish citizenship. She has also worked in the legal department of the Ministry of Economy and in the Office for Repatriation and Aliens. She was director of the LOT Polish Airlines Office for North and South America in New York, and headed the Legal Department of the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate.
She completed her legislative training at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and her MBA degree at the Institute of Economics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. From December 2015, she served as Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, and then from September 2016 as Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On 24 October 2017, she was appointed Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Interior and Administration.
