Secretary of State
Paweł Szefernaker was born in 1987 in Szczecin. He has a graduate degree in law from the European School of Law and Administration in Warsaw. During the studies, he co-founded the Committee of the Legislative Initiative “Restoring reductions for students”. In 2010, he became a councillor of the Warsaw Śródmieście district and resigned in July 2014. Since July 2014, he has been the president of the Law and Justice Youth Forum and vice-president of the European Youth Conservatives. In the 2014 local government elections, he was elected a councillor of the Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship Council (Sejmik). In 2015, he headed the online part of Andrzej Duda’s presidential campaign. In the same year, he ran for office in parliamentary elections in the Koszalin constituency. He has been elected MP of the 8th term. On 16 November 2015, he was appointed Secretary of State at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister. In 2015, he was included in the list of 100 Central and Eastern Europe’s innovators – New Europe 100 – announced by the Visegrad Fund in cooperation with Financial Times.
On 17 January 2018, he was appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration. He also acts as Government Plenipotentiary for the Cooperation with Local Government. He is responsible for matters related to administration and for the cooperation with local government as well as with churches, religious organisations and national and ethnic minorities.
