European Commission approved Poland’s request for a financial contribution from the European Refugee Fund. It means that in 2004 Poland will be able to use 440 490 euro from its resources.

Quick completion of Europol’s information infrastructure and a two-phase evaluation of the Shengen system, these are the most essential issues discussed by the ministers of internal affairs of the “Salzburg Group” during the debate on 15-17 July this year. The group, which met for the fifth time, consists, apart from the Austrian host, of Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

On these days the IX meeting of the Polish–Slovak Intergovernmental Conference on Cross-border Co-operation took place in Cracow. The Polish delegation was lead by the Under-Secretary of State in MSWiA Paweł Dakowski, while the Slovak party was represented by Martin Pado, Secretary of State of the Slovak Ministry of Internal Affairs.
