03.12.2010Poland and Ukraine talk about EURO 2012
Joint safety and security strategy for EURO 2012 was the main discussion topic during the meeting of the Polish-Ukrainian intergovernmental working group for the coordination of safety and security during 2012 UEFA European Football Championships. Poland and Ukraine will host this prestigious event in 18 months.

Experts from the Standing Committee on Spectator Violence and Misbehaviour at Sports Events and in particular at Football Matches (T-RV) paid a two-day visit to Poland. They talked to Polish organizers of EURO 2012 about the safety and security of the tournament. The delegation also watched a friendly match between Poland and Ivory Coast in Poznań and checked safety and security systems that are in place at the stadium, which will soon be used for the European Championships.

Polish Minister of Interior Jerzy Miller met with Colonel General Alik Sargsyan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armenian Police, to determine the framework of police cooperation. A declaration that was signed at the General Police Headquarters will facilitate police cooperation in the area of football fan security during EURO 2012.

On 8 November 2010 Minister Jerzy Miller attended a meeting of Ministers of Interior at the EU Council for Justice and Home Affairs. Interior Ministers discussed such topics as visa policy towards citizens of Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina, development of the European asylum system and security of air transport.
