Born on 10 December 1959 in Skierniewice, graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Łódź University and Higher Police School in Szczytno. Attended courses, trainings and specialisation trainings in the United States, Germany, Great Britain.
Retired chief superintendent of the Police, appointed for the position of Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Interior and Administration on 20 November 2007.
He started his career in the Police in 1980 and from 1988 he worked for the Chief Police Headquarters. He engaged in the problems of organised crime, economic and drug crime (in 1996-1997 he was the Director of the Office for Combating Organised Crime under the Chief Police Headquarters). Founder and first Director of the narcotics Bureau in the Chief Police Headquarters (1997-1999). As a result of the fusion of those two Bureaus Central Investigation Bureau of the Chief headquarter of Police was created.
In 1999-2000 he was Voivodeship police Commander in Wrocław, and as of 2000 he was appointed to the position of the Deputy Police Commander in Chief (remained in that position until 2003 in charge of the Criminal Police Division).
In 2004-2006 he fulfilled the following functions: I Counsel of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vilnius and liaison officer of the Police in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. From January to September 2006 he was Voivodeship Police Commander of the Małopolskie Voivodeship. On 12 September 2006 he decided to retire.
He is an author of numerous articles on crime and co-author of numerous systemic solutions in the Police. Honoured and awarded with numerous awards by Ministers of Interior of Austria, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Germany and Russia.
Married, two children.
