Graduate of the Foreign Trade Faculty of the Warsaw School of Economics, and scholarship holder of Duisburg University (Germany).
Engaged in the operations of Independent Student Association (NZS) as NZS chairman in SGPiS and secretary of the National Coordination Committee; in 1994-1996 worked in Telewizja Polska SA (Polish public television), e.g. on the position of the director of Field Branches Office and General Director of Channel 1. In 1997 he coordinated the Media and Democracy programme in the Institute of Public Affairs; in 1998-2000 fulfilled the function of the Director of Press and Information Office in the Ministry of National Defence; from 1998 to 2002 he fulfilled the function of Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Polish News Agency; in 1998-2000 Member of the Gmina Council of Warszawa-Centrum and deputy chairman of the Culture Committee of the Council; from December 2000 to July 2002 deputy President of the City of Warsaw; in 2002-2006 Member of the Management Board of Polskie Radio SA (public radio company), and then – from November 2006 to November 2007 fulfilled the function of Deputy Marshal in the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.
